Curriculum Vitae

I have a long and storied career in the newspaper and publishing industry behind me. Testimonials are available by request.

In 1868, I began my career in journalism as a reporter for the Westliche Post, a German-language newspaper in St. Louis. Over time, I worked my way up and eventually purchased the St. Louis Dispatch in 1878, merging it with another paper to form the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, which became renowned for its investigative reporting and crusades against corruption.

In 1883, I purchased the New York World, where I continued my commitment to investigative journalism, championing causes such as exposing political corruption and advocating for the working class. My paper’s sensationalist style and investigative prowess helped shape the era of "yellow journalism."
